Light Switches

Light Switches

I am interested to know how many hours of lighting other Kent Marine Bio Reef owners light their tanks for. I have currently increased mine from nine to ten hours and have noticed an increase in brown algae. My tank is four months old and I am keeping soft corals. Mine are on from around 7am to 4pm so about 9hrs. Then i switch the blue leds on...used to hav a prob with diatoms (brown algae) but it seemed to sort itself out. I hav a finger coral, toadstool, zoa and a xenia the reason for the night lights in the morning is so that my corals and fish can adjust before the bright blue actinic is on then they can adjust to the bright white 10000k bulb
